SEAFEST 2014
July 26, 2014 @ Cape Cod Canal's Sandwich Marina
Part of Sandwich's 375th Birthday

What an amazing time was had by all! There was something for everyone, old and young alike. There was the Coast Guard Cutter Tiger Shark, the Sandwich Fire Rescue, Shallop Elizabeth Tilley, and the most impressive pirate ship, Formidable. The Coast Guard gave tours, demos and games, and even allowed the kids to board ship. There was an incredible art show, hosted by the Artisans' Guild of Cape Cod. I really enjoyed the Shanty music, and a number of fantastic musical groups brought it home. There was a kid's tent with so much for kids to do, including touching some of nature's coolest creatures, like lobsters, crabs and starfish. The young ladies from the Green Briar Nature Center played teachers to the young children. There was the NAMA Throwdown, which pitted Chef Steve Chausse pf Daniel Webster Inn against Chef Brandon Babiarz of Marshland Restaurants. There was food galore, including delicious stuff from Marshland Restaurant & Bakery and Beth's Bakery & Cafe. Coca Cola of New England was there giving out free Cokes. And, this fun event---which was FREE to the public--was sponsored by www.Sandwich375.com, Stop & Shop, and NRG. Congratulations to all the hard workers that made it possible. It was really a great event for the Town of Sandwich.
